MONEY MAKING FOR MILLENNIALS

Sharing is caring!

 Who are Millennials?

Millennials are the future and the present, we are the leaders of our generations and yet to come. But why aren’t we acting like one? and why arent we thinking like one?. In our society, where money is the topic of our everyday discussion but no plans whatsoever on how to make it. We focus on having money and not being successful. Being success is building that mindset, thinking outside the box beyond reasonable doubts that when you do get the money you would know what to do with it.

You don’t have to have a million naira or dollars to be successful, being successful goes a long way from just having money and all the good things in life. This post is about money-making for millennials, I’m not talking about another type of money I’m talking about MONEY MONEY MONEY. Honestly, I love talking about money, because I want to make money and as a millennial, we weren’t really taught how to make this shmoney you know.

When it comes to making money, the first thing you’d think is getting a good job, sustain the income and then work your way up the food chain.

The problem here is that our parents have us believe that the only way we can have money is by going to school, graduating top in the class but don’t get me wrong Education is important. Education is great because knowledge is infinite, what you know will always be with you forever. That is a fact.

I once read on a company’s website for recruitment, where they said they weren’t looking for the brightest students who aced all their exams but the average students who were not out to please their lecturers on paper but have turned the knowledge into a skill. Not only the skill but how they communicate the skill. Now, this is as important as Education, Communication is a real major deal.

Listen to this, imagine a straight-A student who doesn’t know how to communicate what they know, that person is as good as being dumb. If you can communicate well, socialize well that’s a bonus for you because companies would dig that. Who wouldn’t want someone who can win the heart of anyone just in a few seconds, even to the extent of making him/her buy something they didn’t know they need.

Communication is what will do that for you or as a pharmacist who can’t breakdown medical terms for his/ her patients who aren’t so knowledgable or properly counsel the patient on how to take the drug. The point I’m driving here is that if you want to make money, you need to stay informed, communicate and socialize. I hope I’m making sense. These three things would surely guarantee your progress.

So if we know all this, why is it that the education system doesn’t teach us that but makes us robots, whose only mission is to fight hard to gain good grades that in fact kills our intellect because we never do learn, its all about acing the exam and with all this we graduate in hope of the big fat paycheck that’s going to be coming in but we never did have the opportunity or time to evaluate our chances of survival in the labour market.

What if the good job never comes, what then do you do?…

And if you do get the job, can the pay meet up with your expenses and give you enough room to save?.

What if you lose the job?

This sole dependency on a job can really put one in a place of almost no financial growth or increase in net worth except you do something about it.

Now I am sure I have left you with something to ponder on. The system is already corrupt but you can somehow change it by changing the way you think.

‘No matter what you do or what you become as a career choice, it’s not the profession or career that makes you great but what you as an individual make out of it.’

What can you make out of the career you have chosen today and in terms of making money where do you see yourself in the next three years? I would love to read your awesome responses in the comments.

School equips you with knowledge. But doesn’t always teach you how to apply that knowledge in real-world scenario’s. School’s should also place more emphasis on helping students develop better interpersonal skills
